Ukrainian documentary photography under fire — discussion at Book Arsenal

 

 

On May 18, as part of the VII International Arsenal Book Festival in Kyiv, a discussion on “UKRAINIAN DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY – BENEFITS AND RISKS” will be held with the authors of the photo book “RAW. Story of Changes of Ukrainians and Army.” The panelists will discuss documentary photography in the context of the worsening political situation and war in Ukraine.

The panelists will discuss the following issues:

·         How can Ukrainian documentary photography influence Ukraine’s image in the world?

·         Truth vs. falsehood in documentary photography.

·         The impact of propaganda on the documentary photographer.

·         The place and role of the photographer in conflict zones.
